Welcome & After Parties
For three years the Cartoon Network Hall of Game Awards Welcome Party has come to life through a combination of intense creativity and unique production value, and in 2014 the After Party activation joined the ranks of successful events as well. Both parties support the Hall of Game Awards show weekend in Santa Monica, California. Year one and two featured the Welcome Party hosted at the iconic Viceroy Hotel and 2014 at the Loews Hotel. The After Party is brought to life in a completely fabricated from scratch tent experience next to Barker Hanger, home of the awards show, at Santa Monica Airport. The Welcome Party is host to over 250 VIPs and special guests which the After Party attendance is upwards of 800. Both parties are fully decked out with Cartoon Network décor and completely transform the space they encompass.
At the Viceroy features like the poolside cabanas were leveraged to create kid —and adult—friendly activity spaces. State of the art theatrical enhancements bring the space to life. At the center of it all, the iconic pool is converted into a signature black-and-white checkered dance floor, playing host to celebrity-led dance-offs and demonstrations from slacklining pros fresh off a performance at the Super Bowl. Attendees indulged in unique, kid-friendly catering: think PB&J sushi rolls! And throughout the space, immersive activities—from rock climbing up the hotel itself and “Shaq-ified” mini-golf, to once-in-a-lifetime virtual racing simulators and custom t-shirt screenprinting.
The after party came to life in a 15,000+ square foot tent completely transformed into the ultimate Hall of Game post party extravaganza. Immersive Carton Network and sponsor themed activities provided a distraction for the kids, while parents enjoyed a wide variety of unique food and drink. Add in a massive, custom-built Cartoon Network DJ booth helmed by a rocking, track-spinning emcee, overlooking an LED interactive dance floor and this party proved to be one that kids (and parents) are sure to remember for life!
