Whym Merchant SAAS

Co-Founder & COO

Whym initially found success with its curated product offerings marketed through text messaging, sparking significant interest in its proprietary conversational commerce technology from partner brands. This interest led Whym to pivot towards becoming a software company in early 2020, aiming to meet the rising demand for digital sales channel tools amidst increasing customer acquisition costs and a consumer preference for direct, personalized communication. This strategic shift involved redefining their market approach to address the inefficiencies in existing commerce tools and the growing trend towards online shopping and personalized customer experiences.

By launching a comprehensive suite for SMS commerce, Whym sought to reinvent commerce for communication, integrating features that streamline the shopping experience, such as mobile payments, VIP 'drop' features, marketing and CRM tools, and personal concierge services. This suite leveraged SMS's ubiquity and convenience to offer a frictionless shopping experience without the usual hassles of passwords, PINs, or re-entering payment details, highlighted by a 98% open rate and swift response times.

In facing the challenges brought by privacy changes and the "cookie apocalypse," Whym ventured beyond mere technology to address a gap in capturing shopper intent and top-of-funnel data, crucial for brands struggling to identify future customers. By developing solutions that leveraged overlooked shopping behaviors, Whym provided a means to navigate around traditional tracking limitations, focusing on collecting, comparing, buying, and sharing shopper intent data.

This evolution allowed Whym to bridge the gap between eCommerce and Conversational Commerce, providing brands with deeper insights into their customers' discovery-to-purchase journeys. The platform enabled brands to turn passive browsers into active buyers by using first-party data to create owned audiences and more effective engagement strategies.

As Whym continues to expand its offerings and innovate within the digital commerce space, its journey from conversational commerce to harnessing shopper intent and top-of-funnel data stands as a testament to its dedication to solving pressing industry challenges.
